In
the early 1990s, Mr. Vladimír Hučín was recommended by the
Confederation of Political Prisoners and the Club of Engaged
Impartial into the newly established Security Information Service
(BIS), for his civic attitudes and brave active resistance against
the previous communist government and its supporters. Whilst in BIS,
he fulfilled his responsibilities excellently, with best ratings. He
worked in the 4th department of BIS, focusing on the
issues of extremism and terrorism.
In
the early post-communist period, many important documents and lots of
compromising evidence of the activities of important persons of the
communist era were destroyed, with the passive attendance of
government institutions. Captain Vladimír Hučín, during his
activities in civic committees and as the BIS officer, managed to
save many of those important documents and hence revealed a lot of
interesting facts at the time. Before long, he was displaced from the
office, and arrested shortly after. Now the above-mentioned documents
protect his life, but also are the cause of many problems. Those who
prefer to keep their past in secrecy have tried for years to find and
destroy the documents, never hesitating to break the law in their
struggle; however, they have failed so far. The documents show many
links between the communist organizations and contemporary
institutions.
Many
people who used to be, or are, active in public are afraid of those
documents, and try to keep the trial they with Cpt. Vladimír Hučín in
secret, for the sake of the national security as they put it.
However, the reality is different – it’s the national
security that requires the trial to be public, so we – the
citizens of this republic – know what has been, and is, going
on in our country, and how its safety and future is compromised.
Most
of the mass media are still under control of old institutions, so the
information most of you get in this matter is biased. The
confidential penal file of Cpt. Vladimír Hučín No. 1T312/2001
contains, in addition to illegal tapping, the names and criminal
offences of former communists, collaborationists with the ancien
regime, and secret police contributors currently in high positions in
justice, police, state administration, etc. These people have
affected the life of Vladimír Hučín, and they also affect the
everyday life in the country and your own fates as well.
We,
as signed below, have personally found Cpt. Vladimír Hučín to be
straight, fair, and patriotic man of strong morals. We are honored to
have become his friends, and help him as well as our home country.
His
case is already well-known in the European Union as well, and the
high EU officials have already become interested. Recently, we have
presented the case, personally and in detail, to the EU Ombudsman Mr.
Nikiforos Diamandouros, together with the related documents, some of
which are available at www.hucin.com
as well.
We
believe that Cpt. Vladimír Hučín is sure to receive top-class honor
of the government one day. He has served our country well, and he
still does. Let us, then, also deserve our fellow citizen, Cpt.
Vladimír Hučín. It’s our turn, citizens. There’s not much
time left.
